Endress+Hauser Acquires Adjacent Property

The instrumentation provider in Maulburg secures further areas and takes over three trainees

Endress+Hauser GmbH+Co. KG acquires the adjacent premises of Magnetic Elektromotoren GmbH in Maulburg. The instrumentation provider thus creates further opportunities for development at its site. Magnetic, part of the Swedish SKF group, has transferred its production and development department to Switzerland.

The Magnetic building will complete the Endress+Hauser site in the future.

Matthias Altendorf, Endress+Hauser Managing Director, says: "The acquisition of the property opens up new possibilities and chances for us." Endress+Hauser Maulburg is constantly growing. More than twelve million euros have just been invested into new buildings and facilities. Construction work on a production building for level instruments in the Schlagetermatt opposite the Magnetic premises has already been completed. The work in the Harzfeldstrasse, where a test center and a staff restaurant are being constructed, is in its final stages.

The Magnetic compound which covers 10,000 square meters, thereof 7,000 square meters of office and production floor space, MR1 completes the Endress+Hauser location in Maulburg in an excellent way. Despite the new buildings in the Schlagetermatt and Harzfeldstrasse, the dynamically growing instrumentation provider can put the additional floor space to good use. "The Magnetic property provides us with space for the required expansion as well as for optimization in order to deal with substantial growth rates also in the future. With this prospect in view, we can develop the Maulburg site in a sustaining manner," explains Matthias Altendorf. After certain reconstruction measures, the newly acquired areas are to be used efficiently for production facilities and operating areas.

New perspective for Magnetic trainees

Endress+Hauser looked for a fast and pragmatic solution for the trainees of Magnetic. Matthias Altendorf is convinced: "As we take over these trainees we give the young people a new perspective and we meet our responsibility as a training company in the prevailing economic conditions". The trainees have been employed by Endress+Hauser since March 01, 2008 and are continuing their training. The company is currently providing more than 100 young women and men with apprenticeships in different fields of work.
