Next Level Instrumentation

The new Micropilot radar level products are built for safety, precision and efficiency

Endress+Hauser has announced the U.S. release of an innovative new line of Micropilot radar level instruments. The Micropilot family of products was first introduced over 20 years ago, and its success has led to more than 300,000 units being installed worldwide. The latest update to the line is a product of the close relationship between Endress+Hauser and its customers, as user input has inspired many unique new features like self-monitoring capabilities and intuitive user menus.

  • Reliable non-contact measurement even for changing process conditions

  • HistoROM data management concept for fast and easy commissioning, maintenance and diagnostics

  • Highest reliability even in the presence of obstructions in the vessel due to new Multi-Echo Tracking evaluation

  • Hardware and software developed according to IEC 61508 up to SIL3 (in homogeneous redundancy)

  • Seamless integration into control or asset management systems

  • Intuitive, menu-guided operation concept (on-site or via the control system)

  • World's easiest proof test concept for SIL and WHG saves time and cost

Covering a wide range of applications

The new Micropilot FMR5x family of radar level instruments offers everything to guarantee safe and precise measurements of liquids and bulk solids in the chemical, oil & gas, life science, foods and primaries industries, from the standard product for basic applications to high-performance versions to be used in challenging conditions involving high pressure or high temperature.

Intelligent instrumentation keeps you informed

The Micropilot FMR5x was developed according to IEC 61508 and can be used in homogeneous redundancy up to SIL3. For example, the radar level device uses continuous self-monitoring to check its own functionality. If an error occurs, the instrument changes to the safety-oriented output. The recurring check (proof test) can be easily started by an optionally connected engineering tool or directly from the control room.

Integrated data management simplifies maintenance

Another advantage of the new radar instrument is the HistoROM data management concept. Apart from the continuous backup of all relevant data, it enables customers to exchange main electronics in a fast and easy manner without any additional tools.

Eliminate fluctuating readings with Multi-Echo Tracking

With Micropilot, Endress+Hauser has developed an even more intelligent and reliable signal analysis of the echo signal curve – Multi-Echo Tracking. All of the echo signals are marked and tracked, not only the level signal. Thanks to the new analysis, the level signal is also acquired if it is partly covered by baffles like heating coils or agitators in the tank. This guarantees safe and precise measurements at any time.
