Built "green" for a sustainable future

Endress+Hauser's additions to U.S. headquarters exceed LEED requirements

Endress+Hauser was looking for a practical and sustainable approach toward building efforts. One that would be beneficial both long-term and short-term, and one that would conserve energy. Being LEED-certified was the answer. LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, and Endress+Hauser’s newest buildings on the Greenwood campus surpass the requirements and specifications for this certification.

Benefits of LEED certification

  • Resource efficient

  • Less energy and water used and/or wasted

  • Reduced greenhouse gas emissions

  • Cost efficient

  • Provides sustainability

A LEED-certified expansion

Our campus expansion included three manufacturing buildings for Level+Pressure, Flow and Temperature+System Products and our Customer Center. All four of these buildings are LEED-certified. An energy-saving $1.2 million geothermal system, the only heating and cooling system for our Level+Pressure and Flow production centers, was included in the project. Our Pearland facility that opened in 2021 is also LEED-certified.

Built for sustainability

  • All building materials sourced from within 500-mile radius

  • 87% of all construction waste recycled

  • Low-VOC carpeting, furniture and building materials

  • Roofs are white TPO (thermoplastic polyolefin)

  • Wall systems are double-insulated

  • Glass is low "E" thermal

  • Occupancy sensors control energy-efficient lighting

  • Skylights that amplify manufacturing-space lighting

  • Energy efficiency of all new buildings exceeds the Indiana Energy Code

Caring about the future

From our experience in the field of process engineering, we know that you can only control that which you measure. This is one of the reasons why we began submitting a Group sustainability report last year. We have to know where we stand, so that we can fulfill our responsibility as a company.
